All Gone To Look For #America… In #London #HappyThanksgiving #Thanksgiving #PaulSimon

For those of you who are joining us tonight on the Rock'n'Roll London Pub Walk (7pm Tottenham Court Road Station), we're doing a Thanksgiving Special, putting American acts centre stage to welcome our friends from the U.S at this special time of year.

Paul Simon is just one of the stars of the show…

The Paul Simon Songbook
(Columbia 1965)

This London classic was deleted for a number of years, but is now happily available again on CD and download.

Not that such matters troubled us – as you can see, our vinyl copy is still going strong (pic, above).

Recorded at Levy’s Recording Studio at 73 Bond Street right here in London, the album is a relic of Simon’s London exile in the 60's. The girl in the sleeve picture is Simon’s then girlfriend Kathy Chitty, a native of Essex. Her name crops up twice in later Simon and Garfunkel songs, namely songs Kathy’s Song and America.

Happy Thanksgiving! We look forward to welcoming you on the Rock'n'Roll Pub Walk tonight.

You can join The Rock'n'Roll London Pub walk tonight at 7pm or Rock'n'Roll London Tour with London Walks every Friday at 2:00p.m. There's no need to book. The Rock'n'Roll London Tour costs £10 (£8 concession).

The Rock'n'Roll London Comic Book is available at The London Bookstore online. Click HERE for the print version & HERE for the download version.
